Services for applying for a Blue Card from within Germany

A residence permit for an EU Blue Card is practically like a “normal” residence permit for employment purposes. The main difference is that the requirements are higher and you receive more rights and privileges. We have described the requirements for the large and small EU Blue Card for Germany on a previous page

Our Services

Our services for applying for a residence permit for an EU Blue Card for Germany generally include the following tasks. This support covers everything for you! We will

  1. provide you with general information on the application procedure (application procedure itself, duration, fees, opening hours, etc.)
  2. prepare a checklist of all the documents to be submitted to ensure that your application is complete. Decision-makers are very annoyed if something obvious is missing, but sometimes they want even more information;
  3. check whether the salary is sufficient to meet German standards, i.e. whether a German in a comparable position would receive the same;
  4. prepare the mandatory application (pre-filled for your convenience). German authorities hate sloppiness and the chances decrease if the application form is obviously missing important information;
  5. tell you which authority to submit the relevant documents to, to ensure that each authority receives exactly the documents they want to see and not something else;
  6. Compiling supplementary documents. German authorities want your story proven, we make sure you submit accurate and relevant data;
  7. encourage the authorities to make decisions in order to speed up processing;
  8. ensure that the authorities in Germany receive all information - sometimes information is lost over long distances;
  9. answer any follow-up questions to the authorities to ensure that they receive only the relevant and correct information;
  10. one-off accompaniment to the immigration office - if you live in Berlin. If you do not live in Berlin, see below.
  11. provide a brief presentation of a new legal status at each relevant step in the residence permit application process;

Time frame

The processing takes about 1 to 2 months - depending on the workload of the authority.

Are you 45 years or older?

If you are 45 years or older, you also have to receive a salary of at least € 4015 in western Germany resp. € 3905 for eastern Germany. If your salary will be lower than that threshold, you will have to show an adequate pension plan or other retirement provisions. This coverage can be either the state pension plan from home, private savings, or closing a German pension plan or a mixture of all. The government wants to make sure that you will not be dependent on welfare upon retiring.

N.B. This is only relevant for the very first permit!

Our Fees

We would charge a fee of 1000 € to prepare your successful immigration to Germany. For persons who are not exempt from the visa requirement, this amount is paid in two installments:

  1. upon appointment,
  2. when the residence permit is issued.
