Proof of Income for Naturalization – aka Prüfungsbericht

If you want to obtain German citizenship, you must, among other things, prove that you have a stable income. The naturalization office intends to determine whether your livelihood as a freelancer is secure. In other words, have you earned enough money to finance your livelihood here? Do you and your better half, the higher earner, only have a self-employed secondary occupation? No matter! The naturalization office still wants an audit report. Regardless of whether this income from self-employment is your primary source or sideline!

Income Audit – aka Prüfungsbericht

The audit report requires a lot of information from you. It is typically aimed at the managing director of a company with a permit to pursue an independent activity under §21 I AufenthG. Recently, the naturalization authority has required an audit report regarding the naturalization of persons who receive income from self-employment, such as freelancers or business owners. Here, your flexibility is kindly requested.

What should you do? Well, the naturalization office will have told you what it wants, so discussing it is pointless.

3. Creation of a checklist to prepare for the appointment at the naturalization office,

4. Accompanying you to the appointment – either in Berlin or Potsdam or Werder,
   When is this necessary? It is unnecessary for naturalization purposes because you will only not receive your naturalization certificate if you do not attend the appointment. It is mainly relevant for extending your stay. However, I am usually available to assist you if you still wish. However, if you are alone in Germany and would like to have a few photos of the naturalization ceremony, then it might make sense after all.
   I will have the dual function of 1) being your interpreter and 2) being your legal advisor to salvage what can be. Since I want to be fair and know that the naturalization office does not allow for enough time slots, I will only come to an existing appointment – subject to my availability. For urgent/short-notice appointments, it is best to call the office in advance and check availability for a specific day and time.
   The escort to the office in Berlin costs €300 and for Potsdam or Werder €400.
5. Living costs calculator
   The naturalization office wants to ensure you will earn enough money to support yourself without public assistance. We have the official calculator that we can run for you. What is the advantage of this calculator? It saves official time and allows you to get your appointment earlier. There is a higher probability that a missing detail will be overlooked if this calculator is submitted. In general, the processing is significantly accelerated. If we determine that your income is insufficient, we will give you tips on how to close the gap. You must process the leads.
